Another idea, inviting friends to servers, and joining a friend in another server through RTB Connect.
Of course, with the option of displaying the RTB server information window, like, on the invite popup or when you're about to join a server through RTB Connect.

This was not anything I proposed. I said we might have an ingame shift-tab overlay like steam to easily access RTB connect/mod manager/other features from ingame.

What I meant was a steam-like overlay, but now that you put it that way with RTB Connect and Mod manager it sounds good.


It probably would work even with steam* too, right? And changeable overlay key?

*As in steam overlay, not RTB Connect using Steam, because that'd kinda be tricky and could be open to steam hackers.

No, he said that I time travel because I suggested inviting friends and joining servers that friends are in through RTB Connect before he did.

RTB Connect
RTB Connect is the name of the messenger and buddy list system we plan to introduce in RTB 3. It will support the following:

• Standard multi-window messaging
• Buddy List with presence indication
• Status indication (busy/afk/ingame)
• Buddy Requests
• Ability to see buddy's server and join
• Profiles (name/email/website/gender/age)
• Buddies sorted into groups on buddy list
• Alerts when certain buddies sign on
• Blocking of annoying buddies (as opposed to removal from list)
• Group chats/chat rooms
• Onscreen popups when you get messaged (in the corner like msn or aim)
• Integration with MSN and AIM to let you talk to msn/aim people from in Blockland
• Secure accounts based on BL ID (no hacky irc-based stuff)
• Restricting people who can add you based on build/full trust with them
• File transfers such as save files or screenshots (this has not been tested yet so we're not sure we can add it)
