Today the blockland community has avoided serious disaster.

After our lifeline, RTB went under today, we lost countless (Ok, 7) hours at looking at random mods, and uploading.

Yeah the domain transfer went badly but I should get it sorted today.

So RTB has a new domain? Or is it just for the mod servers?

Currently we host RTB and its files on a shared server in LA, but recently due to the huge number of people downloading add-ons, submitting new ones etc. our server "cpu load" has been hovering at around 14.5 in peak usage times when it really shouldn't be above 1. This causes extremely slow performance and also pisses off all the other people using the server we're on.

So I bought a private dedicated server which will run much faster and smoother (4gb memory) and yesterday transferred all files and databases over to the new server. The next step is to point returntoblockland.com to the correct server but thats the bit taking some time since it has to be cleared by our hosting staff and a lot of other stuff. So that'll happen today then hopefully we'll have a nice speedy server.

I've always wondered what you guys get out of your sacrifice of time and money, servers aren't cheap.
