Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6734170 times)

they're only ugly in comparison

the way how they became smaller and thinner, the older chests look too wide now lol

and yeah, the animation is nice too, i just wish it wouldn't get stuck sometimes.

so I'm just sitting here in thaumcraft literally watching reeds grow because I need a bookcase to get a thaumonomicon and I was lucky to find a single reed since I managed to spawn in the largest snow biome in the history of minecraft

I agree, alpha was loving stuff, the new minecraft is better, but it's good to remember alpha days sometimes :\

in some cases, nostalgia is a nice feeling

though i'm more of a "forget about the past look towards the future" guy

Minecraft stopped being a game of exploration to us, which is why we liked it. We went to it to discover, like we have with many games before it, yet we became enthralled in the game behind the exploration. We have since discovered all there is to know about minecraft, we know how to dig sand, we know how to efficiently acquire resources, and we know how to cheat the system. We're nostalgic for old minecraft because old minecraft was a fresh experience, not because it was better. The minecraft experience is the same for someone today as it was for us back when we began.

Also most of the new terrain is bland, because they replaced interesting terrain with habitual terrain. Enabling easier building of large structures but a less interesting landscape to explore.

HOW? Also Minecraft 1.4.5 wasn't that long ago... apparently 1.5.5 is due January 2013  :cookieMonster:

I hope that the new update is complex enough to rekindle my enjoyment of the game. I've kind of lost it since SSP is pretty stuff when it's not at all challenging, and before any of you try suggesting hardcore mode, making the enemies harder and making your death delete your world is false difficulty.

I should make an alpha texturepack so it looks just like it did during alpha

i'm sure a google search for  1.4.5 alpha texturepack would yield a stuffload of results.

Maybe I should just filter spam the default texture pack and then resize it to 128x128 and pass it off as a high res default texturepack

it's hard for me to find any interest in vanilla minecraft, which is why i use mods/modpacks.

i personally see minecraft as a platform to be expanded upon, where everyone can alter the experience how they see fit.

GENIUS!

First night on the server adulterycraft. Also, some of the stuff was given to you before hand, like the apples, and whatnot. Reinforced stone and alch bag came from the admin vash.
Plus, this is a hardcore PVP server, so I got lucky. Went undergound.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna have to open the other safe up and move to make a huge fort
Faction name is dwarves, my IGN is Rhino7
