AND OH MAMA, ITS THE RACE (waiting game) TO PAGE 1200.

i killed a boat today

you only do if you do it wrong, and then there are medics rocketmen are like the most OP and annoying class to begin with so I don't see it having too much of a positive impact, heck I want to go to people who play the class' house and murder them

am I going to die from the hands of my own teammate, the dreaded BirdMeNot?

Applications are in.

General R, JoeW, and Swollow are the new admins.

Plus its boring without Jetz responding to the apps.
I fell asleep after the first one because someone filtered out all the really stuffty ones. I can only tolerate legitimate applications when they serve as a brief lull between all the terrible ones that I get to mercilessly abuse.

There's hardly any people who even play healer though, you do have some dedicated healers occasionally though most of the time nobody bothers with him for some reason, maybe its the Weapons? I mean healer is pretty fast If I recall and any class that's fast is a favorite in my book.

Regardless, this is a variable since the skill of the player is what makes Rocketman a "annoying" class, do you want a class nerfed to death or removed because its annoying? Fear mongering is all over this, the fact that having a fall damage dependent boss is only stopping the game from being more enjoyable and less frustrating is absurd.

In all the years I played at Boss Battles the only gripe and the most annoying thing aside from the idiots who stall a game or exploit stuff has to be Fall Damage, it has cost me probably over a hundred something rounds, because either I : Jump down thinking its safe, successful blast jump only to take too much damage when coming back down, Jet too fast with firebug (rare now, might be impossible), dashed into the ground as Decker Specialist, jumped onto a ramp and for some odd reason I slide off it and hit the ground, get pushed into a wall while walking past a exploding tank turret (I was just trying to get away and apparently wasn't war enough), as medusa or william, do a max height jump with low hp > missing the landing point and falling to death...

The list goes on, and I'm sure others probably had had worse, ask random people at the server, most likely they will say they hate fall damage, some will like it, but majority will hate it.

I hate arguing over stuff like this, but really the only way to find out is to try it, unfortunately there is never a Boss Battles Beta server to test things before their added to the game.

Really though why do we not have a Beta Server? It would be safer than just thoroughly discussing the change then making it and hoping the gameplay improves instead of worsening, and you wouldn't need to rent a server since the Beta server would only be open a few hours a week. Then if all things go great their added to the primary server.

There's nothing really bad about having a beta testing server, we had the dev server back then and it was great, the beta server could have a more limited player limit, something like 18 or 16 players.

Rocketman is repeatedly detrimental to the team, although this was very partially fixed in the rocket """""nerf"""""
They blast the boss away from spies ready to stab and firebugs in the boss' face shredding its health.
Now they do bullstuff damage and are still extremely annoying to pretty much every boss if there's more than two of them. Practically impossible to play with 4 even because not only can you literally not move at all, but you're also completely loving blind because of the rocket smoke, now while your health is reduced by 1000 in a handful of seconds, only by rockets.
Then against fast bosses there are the rocketmen who just decide to rocket jump across the map at their leisure, doing practically no damage because of poor aim. These guys can really only be dealt with with large AoE attacks like, for instance, sirica's rockets, or with SC's homing stuff.

This requires practically no skill whatsoever apart from having halfway decent aim and knowledge of the fact that you can rocketjump.

Fall damage is annoying but you can cushion your landing fairly easily with the rocket if you have a not-terrible ISP. You basically rely on them loving up, because that's literally all you can do, just run and wait for them to screw up their timing (which with experienced players takes a while).

Sure rockets can be dealt with with skill, but you have to be really good at the game to do this, e.g. deflecting the rockets back at the player with baddie's shockwave

Honestly you keep saying over and over again that you find rocketmen annoying, dude there's going to be annoying classes, if rocketmen where to be nerfed or yet removed, eventually you guys would be annoyed with another class and then start complaining about it, I used rocketmen and detonators as a reference because I knew there was going to be at least one person who was going to say "thats not a good idea because x" and thats one of the things that popped up.

There's annoying stuff sometimes you have to deal with, that being said being killed by a player is less annoying then death caused by dashing into a wall or jumping too fast, specially if your doing good in a match and then for some reason the game decides to go "Oh hey your having a good time? Oh well to bad your buddy fall damage wants to pay you a visit".

I can not stress enough how annoying it is to die because of falling of a ledge as opposed to being killed by a player that's firing rockets at you, because at least when you die from that's its clear that somebody was shooting you, seeing the boss in your sights and then missing a jump and falling to death is horrible.

Fall damage being disabled is just a thing I have always hoped of, I don't think its going to happen, maybe it will or it won't that's not up for me to decide, the last thing I'm going to say right now is I know I'm not the only one who despises fall damage.

When I use rocketman and there is a group of scientists + engineers / snipers working together,  I blast away the boss in order to protect them.  I don't use rockets if there are backstabbers coming in with a good shot, as they are often the key in winning a game.  You can, in addition, blast Medusa/William away from stunned enemies (as well as screwing with their aim) in addition to blasting bosses away from the PersonWithTheGoldenWrench.  It's also a good class for luring the boss into a detonator trap.  Speaking of which, detonator is great for these purposes as well, so they are both best used as a sort of defensive class, I find.

Also I use healer frequently, as the Blutsauger can actually do quite a bit of damage for prolonged periods of time, and you can heal people through walls/floors (great in the Volcano map)  It's the art of hiding from the boss (if there are multiple players to heal), and having good aim.

Shame most people don't use them the way they should be.

Secondly, what do you mean by "explosion scale"? I am having an extremely hard time comprehending whether you mean general explosions or just certain classes. A major problem in my opinion has always been rockemen regardless of their "nerfbuff" thing.
Thirdly, if we are to have an automatic map changer instead of voting, I feel it would be best if it goes on a queue (like alphabetized) and that we should still have it set under 1 day. That way, Map A always goes before Map Z.
By the "explosion scale", I mean that the knockback created from the explosion scales with playercount, similarly to damage dealt by Overweights.
I didn't really mean to have an implication on no voting. I honestly like the voting system, despite the fact that Hangar and Castle are pretty much the only maps played nowadays. What I meant was that the voting system should have two categories: a small map one and a large map one.
Really, what all of this is about, is when there are multiple rocketmen and lots of normals, when you are boss, of course.

This sums up what has been happening lately. The boss is almost completely incapable of killing, or even damaging, any normals. Especially because of the recent "nerfbuff", there are a lot more people playing rocketman.
The only things I am requesting is a multiple map voting system, for when the playercounts are high or low, and an "explosive scale" for rocketmen and detonators.
Penth can't even stand it when there are more than 4 explosive classes at the same time, and she's pretty explosive-resistant.

I would pay real money for a book of the applications you guys tear apart in reviews.

One chapter would be the epic tales of Jetz.

Any new maps coming? And I claim 1200 when we hit it in the next post or two.
