i'm so tempted to look into speedrunning the genocide route
i think i messed up on my initial playthrough though

why:
i'm pretty sure i should be LV 15 when going to fight Sans, but i'm at LV 14. i think i forgot stuff in the ruins? i can't find any other random encounters. might just wipe all game data and start over so i don't end up with the alphys ending
killing the dogs in snowdin hurts ;(

I was LV 19 for that part, are you sure you actually triggered Genocide mode? You can tell if you're in Genocide because the save points will just say "Determination." or a count of monsters left in the area when used.

The amount of exp you get from killing the bosses will always push you to level 19 with 49999 exp til level 20. If you dont get all the encounters in the ruins and one shot toriel ont he first turn then genocide route wont start (Note: Killing toriel by sparing until she lets her guard down also counts if you are expecially evil)

Spoilers for genocide route: I'm slowly getting better at Sans. I am now able to mostly survive the first attack perfectly and not use a single healing item before the break, and i've been able to consistently get to the pre special attack, but his smack attacks get really brutal and unfair if you take too long, sometimes knocking you back into bones forcing you to take damage.
I'm able to survive most of the final attack but that damage laser barrage gets me every time.[color]

About nothing, I completed the game all the way through to the true final pacifist boss and that's the only method I'm going to play the game again if I ever do in the future

I know about all the crazy stuff this game knows about what you've done in the past, but it doesn't make me any more willing to kill anyone

Yes, I forgeted up the first time and missed some character interactions but [Flowey] informed me of my mistake at the end so I went back and did things proper

I missed out on a lot of the enemy interactions because I thought I was supposed to just instantly run away from everything for pacifist

As a result I also had jack stuff for gold for almost the whole game

Good luck. not only does it hurt the soul, but it also has the 2 hardest bosses in the game.
