Wow, I'm so cool, I can download viruses too!!

Somehow, no matter the simplicity, I don't think that you would be able to write soPhysician Prescribed Desoxyning like that.

Owned. Though I got hit worse a couple of days ago:

For my web design class, I wrote a slick little comment system in PHP and people in my class were posting and toying around with it. Then some people started to spam it with tribal jokes, etc. I was deleting their posts, but to no avail. The next day, I got called into the office and suspended for, being a skilled "hacker" by providing a medium in which people could write harmful messages. Meh...

Modification Help / Re: Creating a .zip

It's more complicated than just throwing a zip library at soPhysician Prescribed Desoxyning I'm afraid.
If you are talking about updating and re-implementing a new library right in Blockland's source, then I laugh at you. Though it may take a bit more time, it's possible and there are other libraries out there that are way faster at zip i/o than zLib making them the logical choice. Programming a game is complicated, what do you expect?

In a perfect world, what I would see in that section would be theory for building, people's ideas and opinions of different facets of life, and possible tutorials on a plethora of subjects.

The better articles people write, as Devvy has said, the more their rep would go up from other users.

This won't happen for a number of reasons:

1) You are on a forum filled with children. Children do not engage in "intellectual" discussion.

2) The amount of moderation required to keep the trolls and spammers out would be monumental and personally I wouldn't be willing to waste my time on it.

3) This forum is not 4chan, Facepunch, SoPhysician Prescribed DesoxyningAwful, or any other "community" you visit. It is a forum pertaining to the game known as "Blockland" where you are meant to discuss Blockland and not frivilous topics such as religion, politics or the size of your snake.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as there's a generic place to put all your crap that doesn't relate directly to Blockland then I just don't care.
Hm, I guess it would take some pretty heavy moderation to keep such a section. I still revere it as a good idea, but I see your point entirely.

I would think that it would be placed as a child of Off Topic, or as a board in Blockland Forums. I have re posted my idea here, comments and requests for it to be created would be ideal and thus, appreciated.

Suggestions & Requests / Articles Section

Re-posted because the original topic was too old.

I have seen many sites implement an articles section on the main site, or as a child board on their forums. It's basically a place where people write articles about a particular subject, or even about random ideas. On-topic subjects could include things like 'Color Theory for Builds', 'Brick Measurement Theory', etc. I really like to read people's opinions, thoughts, and wisdom, so I think that it would be an interesting place to 'chill'.

General Discussion / Re: New Forum Board

I like this idea. Radial and I were actually discussing this a few weeks ago, but many people would probably turn the topics into spam or flame wars. Some topics survive to be an actual calm intellectual conversation, a lot end with people rage quitting and insulting others.
This is true indeed. Too bad I don't have the exact quote of the conversation :/

I would like to see a form of Articles section which would encompass your general idea.

again... really bored and decided to do this right after I finished filming my Civil War prjoect for school. My friend ain't handicapped either. He gets straight A's in all his subjects (did I mention he's in Geometry and Eng.
Luckily, I caught that edit. Enriched classes aren't that special at all.
Just because he gets good grades by recycling answers from a text book doesn't mean he's not handicapped.
This is true indeed. Any lay man can do it.

Maps / Re: Oceanpack - Tons of oceans and stuff.

I would like to see all of them have screen shots when it comes to mission selection. I would also like to see different versions be released in different packs. There are some amazing maps in there, just that I will only use a couple of them and don't want to edit the zip to just use a few instead of them all.

I was attempting to edit some music tracks for posting on this forum (HeartGold SoulSilver legendary themes) So I cut some parts to make it loop. When I was finally done I noticed that they all went over the 500 kb limit. :(

Giratina is like that chimp who ripped that woman's face off a couple of years ago; he doesn't know any better.

You basically just called every organ in the body a limb...
In some philosophical vernaculars, one could consider their organs as important extensions of themselves thus theoretical 'limbs'. ;)

Off Topic / Re: Help me fix a Cigarette riddled computer [Live]

It may be a side effect of all the supposed viruses. I would opt for a re-installation with the Windows CD. The fact that your computer isn't booting up may be a hardware issue, or it may be a corrupted boot sector on your HD. As denoted before, a Windows CD will probably fix some things.
